I used to hate cleaning my microwave. With all of the bumps, grooves, and crevices, it seemed like it was always an exercise in frustration. Plus – because I didn’t like to do it, I’d always put it off as long as possible, which made it even worse.
Then I found this quick and easy method for cleaning the microwave – just boil a cup of water and let the steam do all the work!
The Easiest Way to Clean A Microwave
Add a cup of hot water to a microwave safe dish. (You can also add a bit of lemon juice to the water, but it’s not necessary).
Microwave the water for at least three minutes – the water should boil for about a minute, creating plenty of steam inside the microwave.
Once the microwave is done, use a sponge or a dish rag to wipe the inside of the microwave. Wipe the roof first, then work your way down the sides, and then the bottom. (Don’t forget to wipe the door, too.)
Although microwave cleaning will never be one of my favorite chores, it is definitely easier now that I know this trick.
