Friday is the start to our weekend, and I always plan something fun for us to do. Over the summer, we went to bounce houses, sprayscapes, beaches, plays, movies, miniature golf and more. All in the name of Fun Day Friday.
Fun Day Friday started as an accident. The Goose was taking swim classes every Friday morning, and we always ended up heading over to McDonald’s for lunch immediately after. I was tired of always doing the same thing, so one week I decided to change things up. I took The Goose to Subway for lunch and then to the park for a playdate with a few of his friends from school.
From then on, Fun Day Friday became a weekly tradition that both The Goose and I look forward to. With the start of school a few weeks ago, The Goose was sure that Fun Day Friday was coming to an end, but we’ve managed to keep up our tradition, though in an abbreviated form. Now, before school we go to the local donut shop for a breakfast treat, he gets a Lunchable in his lunch bag, rather than his standard sandwich and fruit, and when I pick him up from the bus we immediately hop in the car and head someplace fun. This week, we went to Chuck E. Cheese, next week, who knows?
