Every year my husband is overwhelmed at the amount of celebrations we have within just a few months. In October we have our wedding anniversary, in November it’s The Goose’s birthday, December is Christmas, January is my birthda
y and February is Valentine’s Day. And while I don’t think I’m that hard to shop for, finding gifts for all of these occasions (except The Goose’s birthday – The Goose is the only one who receives gifts that day) can be quite a task.
This year, I thought I’d help him (and anybody else who wants to buy a gift for me) out by laying it all on the line.
My 2015 Christmas Wish List
Adele – 25 – I’ve been a huge fan of Adele for years, ever since I saw her first music video Chasing Pavement on MTV – way back when my husband and I were just dating. I have her first two albums, 19 and 21, so it’s no surprise that he newest album, 25 is at the top of my Christmas list this year.
Instant Pot – I’ve heard so many great things about this electronic pressure cooker. (Beef stew in less than an hour? I’ll take it!). While I have a traditional pressure cooker that I use from time to time, I have a difficult time regulating the heat and pressure because of my electric stove. With this handy gadget, all you have to do is press a few buttons, and you can have dinner on the table in no time.
Wool Socks – My feet are always, always, always cold. No matter the time of year, I always have to wear socks and slippers around the house, and I never go to sleep without a thick pair of socks on my feet. Even in the middle of summer. These wool socks.
Pie Crust Bag – I make a mean pie crust… tender, flaky, with just a hint of butter. But I don’t do it often because I hate rolling the pie crust out. It drives me insane when my crust turns out rectangle (or worse, a weird octagon shape), and I don’t have the patient to cut it by hand using the guide on my rolling mat. But – if I had one of these babies we could have all the pie we wanted.
Why Not Me by Mindy Kaling – I am a HUGE (HUGE!) fan of Mindy Kaling. I watch her show, The Mindy Project, religiously and I loved her first book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?. So when I found out she had another book coming out, I made sure to drop several hints that I wanted it. But, in case anybody didn’t catch my drift, let me just put it out there: I want this book.
UGG Slippers – I have a pair of Ugg boots, and though they aren’t the most fashionable pair of boots I’ve ever owned, they are really, really warm. And, since I always have cold feet (see above), and I live in Michigan, keeping my toes warm during the harsh winters is all I care about. But it’s not just the winter months that my feet need to stay warm.
Homemade Kitchen by Alana Chernila – A few years ago, I bought Alana Chernila’s first cookbook, The Homemade Pantry and it truly changed the way I think about food and the way that I feed my family. Her book inspired me to stop buying over-processed, non-nutritional foods and start making foods at home. And I am really looking forward to seeing what her latest book has to offer.
Pasta Board – For our wedding anniversary, my husband and I splurged on the pasta attachment for our KitchenAid mixer. And since then I’ve been obsessed with homemade pasta. So when I saw what professional pasta maker, and Instagram sensation Miyukiadachi could do with a pasta board and her thumb, I had to have one. (You should check out her videos on Instagram – they are amazing!)
So that’s it – all the things I have been longing for the whole year in one, easy to read list.
